The FuturaMix Crew: DJ NUMODAN
I remember being 4 years old back in the late 70's living in an old town in Guerrero Mexico.
I would wait for my Father to return from work. My Father and I would sit outside with his guitar and I would listen to him play and sing Mexican folk songs, he also played in a band. If you're wondering where I get the music interests from, I hope this story can help you understand. As I got older I would accompany my Father and his band to hear them play at private parties. During my grammer school years back in the mid 80's living on the north side of Chicago I'd listened to dance music like, Disco, Funk and House music on 102.7 FM WBMX .
Mixes had taken over the radio airwaves, so that caught my interest. I grew up listening to Djs and music producers like: Kenny Jammin Jason, Farley Jack Master Funk, Bad Boy Bill, Chip E. Frankie Knuckles, Jamie Principle, Yaz, George Kranz, JM Silk, Julian Perez, Mark Emperial, Marshall Jefferson, Ralphi Rosario, Kraft Work.......I recall an old Dj friend and I would listen to WBMX and try to mimic the Djs with our own set of Pioneer direct drive turntables and a mixer we managed to get a hold of and a few records we had bought. I have to give a lot of credit to a known Dj. Frankie Isais who also inspired me to become a Dj.
During the early 90's I Dj'd in some house parties and In the late 90's I ventured out in to playing music "Djing" for clubs and lounges arround the Chicago area. I promoted some large and small venues, threw some house parties, started a professional mobile Dj service (Frekuency Mobile DJs). I'm still in the mobile Dj business to this date.
As music and genres evolved, I quickly adapted as well. In "2001" I started experimenting with remixing and producing club dance tracks. Having no professional audio school training it was hard for me to arrange music samples. Little by little I taught myself but still, producing was a learning process for me.
I started recording mixes for a radio station in Down Town San Francisco California, 93.3 La Raza Mix. As the time went by, in "2007" I ran into Victor Lua, a Chicago Dj that is very well know from the 80's, 90's Alternative scene and to this date playing Electro/ Indie. Victor Lua still amazes everyone with his unique talent.Victor Lua and I formed "RazorSharp" in "2008" and we dedicate our time to remixing and producing original tracks. To this date Victor and I have 15 tracks that we are very proud of. Artist we've worked with: Italian Urban Hip Hop artist Francesca Maria with "Celebrate We R" [RazorSharp's] Victor Lua & NumO Dan - House Remix.
Samuel Blacher "Send Me An Angel" [RazorSharp's] Victor Lua & NumO Dan - Electro Remix. Lately I've been a guest Dj at a few clubs and lounges in Chicago. Daniel Bahena "NumO Dan".
In 2010, I joined the FuturaMix crew/multimedia group, a leading innovator in the Chicagoland area.
